SMARTEC PC personnel provided Resident Engineering Inspection services in connection to the Reconstruction of Peck Slip in Manhattan. The project is located within a densely populated residential and commercial neighborhood with extremely congested vehicular and pedestrian traffic; requiring a high level of vigilance to ensure that local businesses, residents and other stakeholders are protected and that their concerns are properly addressed, and in a timely manner.
Peck Slip: Pearl Street to Front and North Side of Park from Front to Water. Construction of Island/Park from Front Street to South Street

Water Street: Beekman Street to Dover Street
Installation of 15” ESVP combined sewer from Peck Slip to Dover Street. Installation of 6 Catch Basins, 6 Chute connections and 6 Manholes. Installation of 12” RJDI Water Main and 1 Hydrant. Mass Excavation from Beekman to Dover Streets.

South Street: Installation of new 12” RJDI Water Main and Hydrants (3) - Pearl Street to Front Street. Installation of 11 Catch Basins and Chute Connections and 5 Manholes. Mass excavation from Pearl to Front Street

Installation of 12” RJDI Water Main and 2 Hydrants. Installation of 5 catch Basins, 5 Chute Connections and 4 Manholes. Installation of Concrete Encased 16” DIP Sewer Peck slip to Dover Street. Mass Excavation from Peck to Dover Streets

Beekman Street: Water street to South Street
Installation of 12” RJDI from Front Street to South Street. Partial Mass Excavation from Front to South Streets

All Streets: Reconstruction of cobblestone roadway. New concrete and granite Curbs. Replace in kind existing blue stone and pigmented sidewalks. Installation of telecommunication facilities. Special modification of work methods to accommodate and/or protect utility and gas facilities with limited cover. This work provides for items to cover individual utility companies as well other items covering multi-utility companies.
